Visit Bellows Falls and travel back in time to a place where life was a little bit more gentle. Where folks had time to visit with neighbors as they met in the post office, local food store or passing on the street; where families could buy everything they needed right here on Main Street. Today, Downtown there is a wonderful bookstore, hardware store, jeweler, flower and gift shopwomen’s clothing boutique and custom jewelry, children and vintage clothing and gifts, antique center, artisan gift shops, cafe, farm to table restaurants, an old-fashioned diner, salon, tattoo and piercing shop, arcade, clubs, Irish Pub, art gallery, glass blower and studios pet supply shoppe, art conservation services, apothecary, gem store, old world coffee, community bike shop, movie theatre- the Bellows Falls Opera House, and soon- a coop! You will also find unique dining experiences, farm stands, and tours.
Come stroll, along the Connecticut River, walk the labyrinth and see our canal built in the late 1700’s. Learn more about Bellows Falls and Rockingham at the Historical Society and Adam’s Grist Mill. Walk our streets of vintage Victorian Houses (see map below) and experience quintessential Main Street shopping. Visit our wonderful Farmers’ Market (Fridays May through September plus indoor 3rd Friday Markets October – December) with goods from local farms and merchants. Visit the Great Falls Regional Chamber of Commerce for information on Rockingham and surrounding areas of Grafton, Chester and New Hampshire river communities of Charlestown, Walpole and Acworth.

BFDDA Membership Form:

The Bellows Falls Downtown Development Alliance is devoted to the continuing revitalization of downtown Bellows Falls, the historic commercial center of the Town of Rockingham. Founded in November 1999, BFDDA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that works in collaboration with the Vermont Downtown Program, the Town of Rockingham, and the Village of Bellows Falls.

BFDDA’s formal mission is “to promote and support revitalization efforts and economic development in the Bellows Falls Downtown Development District, to coordinate with other community groups and Town and Village governing bodies in regard to ongoing development efforts, and to aid and assist other efforts to that end.” 

BFDDA is committed to supporting the vitality, character, and way of life that Bellows Falls has long enjoyed. It is our focus to preserve and enhance the viability of the business community for those who reside, work, or visit here.

It is the responsibility of the Bellows Falls Downtown Development Alliance to preserve this way of life by promoting and assisting the businesses that are here and supporting the business needs of the community.
