A space for local artists to display and sell their handmade wares since 1975. Run by members, staffed by members. Containing pottery, quilts, prints, wood products, wrought iron, stone and wood lamps and pencil cases, woodworking, leatherwork, jewelry, hand knits, silk and wool scarves, children’s clothes, cards, candles, soaps, braided rugs, pine needle baskets, toys, glassware, pottery and ceramics, stationery, decorative cones and much much more!
The River Artisans Cooperative, formerly known as the Jelly Bean Tree was created in 1975 by a group of local artists and crafts people in Saxtons River, Vermont. For over 38 years the shop was located in the Main Street Arts building in Saxtons River.
In 2013, the shop moved down the street and was renamed. In September of 2017, it moved to its present location in Downtown Bellows Falls on the square in between The Rock & Hammer and Village Square Booksellers. There is still parking right out front! The shops operating expenses come from display fees, commissions on sales, fundraisers and member contributed items.
