Town of Rockingham and the Village of Bellows Falls

The Town of Rockingham is a duly constituted Town of the State of Vermont which was first chartered in 1753. As with all Towns in Vermont which do not have specific state charters, Rockingham is governed by a Selectboard, and has also opted to be governed by the Town Manager form of governance. The Chair of the Selectboard is elected from within its membership at the annual organizational meeting of the Board.

The Village of Bellows Falls was first incorporated as a separate village in 1909. Vermont state statutes contain the Charter for the Village. The charter calls for the Board of Trustees to be comprised of four Trustees with two elected each year for two year terms and a Village President to be elected each year. The Village annual meeting is held on the third Tuesday of May, with the annual business meeting conducted the evening before the annual meeting.

The Bellows Falls Opera House is located on the first floor of the Town Hall. Movies are shown every Friday through Tuesday. Classic movies are shown the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays at 7:00. Information is also available on their Facebook page – Bellows Falls Opera House. The Opera House is also available for live performances and events.
