Flat Iron Cooperative

In the heart of Downtown Bellows Falls, find the Flat Iron Cooperative, a co-op cafe, a place to work, visit, meet and celebrate community.

Join Larisa Demos, Susan Sheffer and Rachael, along with hundreds of your neighbors as a member of Flat Iron Co-op

Located at 51 The Square, this building became known as the Flat Iron Building because of it’s resemblance to similarly shaped buildings in New York City. The strange shape, narrow in the front and wide at the rear of the building reminded people of antique flat irons.

The rear of the building was painted in 2000 by the Rockingham Arts Museum Project and depicts the Downtown Square around 1899-1900. The mural is easily seen driving North through the square or from the stairs between Jim’s Arcade and Everyday Creative. The mural was recently touched up by Rotary Club Member David Stern of Main Street Arts.
