About BFDDA

Welcome to Bellows Falls, Vermont.

The Bellows Falls Downtown Development Alliance is devoted to the continuing revitalization of downtown Bellows Falls, the historic commercial center of the town of Rockingham. Founded in November 1999, the BFDDA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that works in collaboration with the Vermont Downtown Program, the Town of Rockingham, and the Village of Bellows Falls.

BFDDA’s formal mission is “to promote and support revitalization efforts and economic development in the Bellows Falls Downtown Development District, to coordinate with other community groups and Town and Village governing bodies in regard to ongoing development efforts, and to aid and assist other efforts to that end.”

BFDDA is committed to supporting the vitality, character, and way of life that Bellows Falls has long enjoyed. It is our focus to preserve and enhance the viability of the business community for those who reside, work, or visit here.

It is the responsibility of the Bellows Falls Downtown Development Alliance to preserve this way of life by promoting and assisting the businesses that are here and supporting the business needs of the community.

Bellows Falls: Go back in time to a place where life was a little bit more gentle. Where folks had time to visit with neighbors as they met in the post office, local food store or passing on the street. Today there is a wonderful old fashioned bookstore, hardware store, flower shop,  clothing stores, antique stores, gift shops, coffee shop, farm to table restaurants and an old-fashioned diner.
Come stroll, along the Connecticut River and our canal built in the late 1700’s and our streets of vintage Victorian Houses and Main Street shopping. Visit our wonderful Farmers’ Market (Fridays May through September plus indoor 3rd Friday Markets October – December) with local goods from local farms and merchants.

Bellows Falls Downtown Development Alliance membership is open to individuals, organizations and businesses
